MEDIA VISITS

We welcome visits by media representatives on assignment and are glad to provide assistance to make your job easier. In order to qualify for complimentary admission to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, we ask that you contact us at least one week prior to your intended visit with the following information:

  • Valid media accreditation
  • Your key target markets including your audience demographics
  • Samples of your past work
  • Requested date of visit, intended storyline and expected result from your visit to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park

Due to the large volume of media visit inquiries, we are unable to accommodate last minute, in-person media pass requests. We are also unable to provide complimentary tickets to media on vacation who are not intending to write about their visit with us. Media passes are limited during our peak periods, as our guest experience is very important to us.

DRONES

For safety reasons, recreational drone use by any guest or member of the public, for any reason, is not permitted on or over any our property. Likewise, commercial use is also prohibited on Capilano Suspension Bridge Park property, except in limited circumstances. Please contact us for more details.

Canyon Lights returns to brighten the 2020 holiday season

Tickets available for purchase Tuesday, November 3rd

North Vancouver, BC – Canyon Lights returns on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 and runs until Sunday, January 3, 2021 (closed December 25). The outdoor holiday experience visitors have enjoyed for the past 15 years returns with COVID safety measures in place.

Cross the glowing suspension bridge, with the canyon and Capilano River illuminated with lights below, journey into the magical rainforest and walk high above the forest floor between the eight tallest Christmas trees in the world on Treetops Adventure. The mesmerizing “Arc de Lumina” light tunnel returns on Cliffwalk for that perfect Instagram moment. Kids of all ages can explore the Park in search of lit snowy owls in a scavenger hunt with weekly prizes to be won.

A tradition for many Vancouver families, Canyon Lights welcomes guests back with some operational changes to ensure the health and safety of visitors and staff remains the top priority. Tickets and annual passes must be purchased in advance online. There will be a limited quantity of tickets available each night for designated entry times, to limit contact upon entry and reduce capacity. All ticket sales are final. BC annual pass holders will also be required to reserve their time online prior to their visit. Book early to avoid disappointment. The first phase of tickets and timed entry bookings will go on sale here on Tuesday, November 3.

For a pre-opening special, a family pass for two adults and two children (up to age 16) will be offered for $115 and includes annual passes for those from BC. The family pass rate increases to $125 in December.

Face masks or coverings will be required in the Park. Disposable masks can be purchased by donation to the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund for those without one. For further information on this policy and our COVID – 19 safety measures, please visit here.

Partial proceeds from admissions will be donated to the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund, for fire and burn education in schools throughout British Columbia. To date, Canyon Lights has donated over $381,000 to this worthy program.

Welcoming You Back to the Bridge! Re-Opening on June 19, 2020

North Vancouver, BC – Capilano Suspension Bridge Park will re-open Friday, June 19, 2020. Open 9am – 6pm daily, plans and procedures are in place to welcome back guests for a thrilling and safe experience.

“Safety is always our first priority and we want to make sure you and your family’s visit is the safest it can be. We are so excited to be re-opening the Park and to be bridging you safely back to nature,” said Communications Manager, Stacy Chala.

The key messages outlined in the video and on the website include:

• Tickets and Annual Passes can now be pre purchased at CAPBRIDGE.COM and will be date and time specific to limit the number of guests in the Park at any one time.
• To ensure physical distancing and sanitization standards are maintained, new COVID-19 related safety signage features Scout, the safety squirrel, throughout the Park.
• Guests will explore the Park in a one-way direction. Suspension Bridge traffic will alternate regularly.
• Hand sanitizer stations are located in multiple locations throughout the Park, including all attractions. Increased sanitization practices are in place.
• Guests may not enter the Park if they display any symptoms of COVID-19.

Capilano Suspension Bridge Park BC Annual Pass holders will have the exact amount of time left on their passes as they did March 17, 2020. No days will be lost. Existing BC Annual Pass holders will also be required to book a date and time for their visit by clicking on BC BOOK TIME.

To enhance the park experience, the Park will feature live music, Raptors Ridge Birds of Prey and a new Kids’ Rainforest Explorer app will be available for download on your mobile devices.

Capilano Suspension Bridge Park will again be offering its FREE SHUTTLE this summer running to and from downtown Vancouver every 30 minutes. Physical distancing measures will be in place with restricted seating.
